Provide specific details
Be specific about students’ performance in your course. Was the course a demanding one? 与其他学生相比，这个学生的表现如何? 这个学生做了什么让你印象深刻的事情吗? 例如，学生是否写了一篇优秀的学期论文或短文? If so, indicate the topic and why it was a superior work. 注意学生智力发展的潜力.
Provide context

Make it official
If you are submitting a hard copy, print the letter on Boston College letterhead, and seal it in a letterhead envelope. It is advisable to sign your name across the seal.
Keep it confidential
Avoid any questions about confidentiality. Send the letter directly to the institution via mail, 电子邮件, 或者申请服务，而不是让学生代表你发送.
Keep it ethical
